A layered sleeveless top by COMME DES GARCONS. Produced in 2002 from a soft brown cotton, the top combines three sleeveless bodices together at the side seams to create one long piece of fabric with three sets of armholes. The ends of the top are left open, and the top is secured by placing the armholes over each other so that when the garment is worn the arms prevent the top from coming undone.
The top can accordingly be worn in multiple ways: fully layered, as a sleeveless top with the left front hanging off the body, or with more layers left hanging at the front or the back.
The neck and armholes are finished with self fabric bands, the hem has been cover stitched, but the open ends at each side have been left unfinished and will continue to curl and fray with wear.
We have included pictures of the same garment being worn by Jess, in pink.
